The Energy group is involved in a wide range of upstream and downstream activities from developing oil and gas fields to trading crude oil and petroleum products. Marine Fuel For many years, Marubeni has ranked as one of the world's top marketeers of marine fuel. One important reason for this position is the close relationships we have maintained with leading worldwide ship owners. Also supporting our achievements are the product import terminals operated in Japan by Marubeni and its global networks of sogo shosha offices and affiliated companies. Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Marubeni handles for use in Japan, crude oil, condensate and petroleum products including gasoline, naphtha, jet fuel, kerosene, diesel oil and fuel oil. In particular, our import of naphtha as a petrochemical feedstock in among the largest volumes imported by Japanese companies, as is our import of low-sulphur fuel oil for delivery to Japanese electric utilities. We also engage in third-country trade, co-ordinated by our overseas network of offices. Close relationships we have built up with national oil companies of producing countries, major international oil companies, and oil traders make it possible for us to carry out transactions worldwide. |
